The India-US Joint Military Exercise ‘YUDH ABHYAS’ commenced on February 8, 2021at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan.
- The 14-day exercise is focused upon joint training on Counter Insurgency and terrorism under the United Nation’s mandate.
- A number of aerial platforms including newly inducted indigenous Advance Light Helicopter WSI ‘RUDRA’, MI – 17, Chinooks, Stryker Vehicles of US Army and BMP-2 Mechanised Infantry Combat Vehicles of Indian Army, will be utilised in the exercise.
- Exchange of experiences in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief will also be a part of the exercise.
- The exercise is one of the largest military training and defence cooperation efforts between India and the United States.
- This exercise is another step towards growing military cooperation between the two countries, which shows the growth in Indo-US ties.
