Artist, architect, sculptor and writer Satish Gujral passed away on March 26, 2020 at the age of 94.
He was Born in Jhelum in pre-partition Punjab on December 25, 1925 and suffered a hearing loss at the age of nine, following a swimming accident in the river Lidder.
He was the brother of the late Prime Minister I.K. Gujral and was awarded India’s second-highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan, in 1999.
Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Gujral is his nephew.
He wrote his autobiography “A Brush With Life”.
He won a scholarship to Palacio de Bella Artes, where he studied under the renowned muralist Diego Riviera.
