- Alibag’s white onion has medicinal qualities and is used for the treatment of heart ailments, controlling cholesterol and creation of insulin.
- According to some experts, the soil of Alibaug taluka has low sulphur content.
- National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration (NABL) -approved lab test report mentions low pungency, sweet taste ‘no tear’ factor, low pyruvic acid, high protein, fat and fibre content, besides high antioxidant compounds (quercetin) in white onion.
