Kodiyal Theru is an annual car festival, held at Car Street in Mangaluru . Hundreds of devotees pull the chariot of Sri Venkataramana as part of the Kodiyal Theru festival.
- The fesival usually last for 6 days with many rituals are performed for the first three days.
- The festival starts with dhwajarohana’ (flag hoisting) ceremony and conclude with the ‘Avabhrithotsava’ ceremony.
- Idols of Lord Venkateshwara (Vishnu) and Goddess Padmavathi (Lakshmi) ascended the ’Brahma Ratha’ or ’Big Theru’.
