Vikram Misri appointed Deputy NSA

The 1989 batch IFS officer Vikram Misri, who completed his tenure as Ambassador to China, has been appointed Deputy National Security Advisor of India (Dy NSA). Shri Ajit Doval is the National Security Advisor.

  • Mr. Misri will take over on January 1, 2021 after the tenure of Deputy NSA and former Ambassador to Russia Pankaj Saran ends.
  • Mr. Misri will work alongside the other two Deputy NSAs, Rajinder Khanna and Dattatreya Padsalgikar, both from the IPS.
  • Ajit Doval is the current NSA, and has the same rank as a Union Cabinet Minister.
