According to the Government of India’s data, till date two crore 82 lakh households have been electrified so far under the Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana – Saubhagya.
About Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana – Saubhagya
- The scheme has completed four years today since its inception. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched this scheme on this day in 2017 to ensure electrification of all willing households in the country in rural as well as urban areas.
- Saubhagya is one of the largest household electrification drives in the world.
- The objective of the scheme was achieving Universal Household Electrification in the country, through last mile connectivity and providing access to electricity to all un-electrified households.
