Russia and China on May 19, 2021 launched via videoconference work on Russian-built nuclear power plants in China.
- Work on Tianwan units 7 and 8 and Xudabao units 3 and 4 was launched at a ceremony attended via video-link by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Tianwan nuclear power plant
- The Tianwan nuclear power plant is situated in the city of Lianyungang in China’s Jiangsu province.
- It is being termed as the biggest example of Russian-Chinese economic cooperation.
Xudabao nuclear power plant
- The Xudabao nuclear power plant is situated in Huludao in Liaoning province, which is a new joint nuclear energy project between the two countries.
