On October 31, 2020, advocate Tashi Gyaltson was unanimously elected as Chief Executive Councillor and Chairman of the 6th Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh general council.
- The Bharatiya Janata Party won 15 seats and the Congress won nine seats in the elections to the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC). The remaining two seats have been won by Independent candidates.
- The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh is an autonomous district council that administers the Leh district of Ladakh.
- The council was created under the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Act of 1995. The council came into being after holding the first elections on August 28, 1995.
- LAHDC-Leh has a total of 30 seats and four councillors are nominated by the government.
