A tiger named T1-C1 has undertaken the longest walk ever recorded in India, travelling some 1,600km in six months.
- In June 2019 T1-C1 started his journey from Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra. Six months later, it has walked around 1,600 km, reaching Dnyanganga Wildlife Sanctuary in Buldhana district of Maharashtra.
- In June 2019, the tiger had entered Adilabad in Telangana via Pandharkawda. Later, it walked into the Painganga Sanctuary.
- In October 2019, it went to Isapur Sanctuary, also in Yavatmal, before entering Hingoli district of Marathwada, which recorded its first tiger sighting in 40 years.
- The tiger had travelled 1,500 km till Ajanta. After his return to Dnyanganga, it is estimated to have travelled around 1,600 km — incidentally the longest any tiger in India is known to have walked.
- The tiger C1 was one of three male cubs born to T1, a female tiger in Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary, home to 10 tigers. He was fitted with a radio collar in February 2019 and continued to roam the forests until the onset of monsoon rains to “find a suitable area to settle”.

- Tipeshwar wild life sanctuary is situated at Pandarkawada Tehsil, in the district of Yavatmal, Maharashtra.
