A new invasive plant species named Strobilanthes reptans has been discovered in Tipi in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Kameng district.
- It is an invasive weed in the Indo-Pacific islands.
- The floral species has been discovered by Jatindra Sarma, the Chief Conservator of Forests in southern Assam.
- The study paper related to the discovery of Strobilanthes reptans has been published in the Rheedia-thejournal of the Indian Association for Angiosperm Taxonomy.
- The plant sported tubular white or pale violet flowers with darker veins from June to September, and yielded fruit from July to December.
