Researchers from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, have developed a new innovative battery powered by perspiration.
- Gurunathan Thangavel, a native of Tamil Nadu, is among the three scientists who designed and developed the battery powered by perspiration.
- It runs on perspiration and can discharge 20 hours of electricity from just 2 ml of sweat. At this point, it is only usable on small portable devices.
- The device designed by engineers there measures 0.8 square inches and is as flat as a Band-Aid.
- The soft stretchable battery comprises printed silver flake electrodes that generate electricity in the presence of sweat.
