The imported doses of Russia’s Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine will cost Rs 995.40 per shot, said Dr Reddy’s Laboratories-the company’s partner in India.
- The Sputnik V vaccine price includes a GST of 5 per cent on every dose.
- The first dose of the vaccine was also administered in Hyderabad on May 14, 2021 as part of a limited pilot and soft launch of Sputnik V in India.
- The first consignment of imported doses of the Sputnik V vaccine had landed in India on 1 May.
- According to the Lancet journal, the vaccine uses a heterologous recombinant adenovirus approach using adenovirus 26 (Ad26) and adenovirus 5 (Ad5) as vectors for the expression of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike protein.
