Indian Cricket captain Virat Kohli on January 22, 2019 created history by becoming the first cricketer to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year, the ICC Men’s Test Player of the Year and the ICC ODI Player of the Year awards.
- Kohli was awarded for his outstanding performance in 2018. Kohli was also named captain of the ICC Test and ODI teams of the year.
- The 30-year-old Indian Captain scored 1,322 runs in 13 Tests at an average of 55.08, and scored 1,202 runs in 14 ODIs at an average of 133.55, notching up 11 centuries across the formats.
