Smritivan Memorial included in World Selection for the Prix Versailles Museums 2024

Smritivan Earthquake Memorial Museum in Bhuj (Gujarat) was included in the World Selection for the Prix Versailles Museums 2024.

  • Smritivan in Kutch is a tribute to those we lost in the tragic Earthquake of 2001.
  • Smritivan, which means Forest of Memories in English, is built over a vast area of over 470 acres.
  • It is located on a small hill — Bhujiyo Dungar — in Bhuj. It is also the home to the world’s largest Miyawaki Forest with over 3 lakh plants.
  • Shortlisted by Unesco as one of the seven most beautiful museums for the prestigious Prix Versailles Award.
  • Announced each year at UNESCO since 2015, the Prix Versailles is a series of architectural competitions that shine a light on the finest contemporary projects worldwide.
  • Twenty-four World Titles are awarded from among the Selected Sites – in the categories of Airports, Campuses, Passenger Stations, Sports, Museums, Emporiums, Hotels and Restaurants.
