In Manipur, State-Level Shirui Lily Festival 2022 will begin on May 25. The four-day-long festival will be inaugurated by the Governor of Manipur La. Ganesan and Chief Minister N. Biren Singh at Shirui Village Ground in Ukhrul district.
- Shirui Lily annual festival is organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur with an aim to create and raise awareness of Shirui Lily flower which is also the State Flower of Manipur.
- The festival is held around April and May as it is the blooming season of Shirui Lily.
- Shirui Lily flower is found in the Shirui Hills in Ukhrul district of Manipur only and cannot be replanted anywhere in the world.
- Ukhrul is the highest hill station of Manipur. It is located at a distance of about 83 kilometers to the east of Imphal.
- The district is inhabited by the Tangkhul Nagas- the colorful warrior tribe, the Kukis and the Angamis. The Tangkhul Nagas are considered one of the oldest major tribes of Manipur.
