Russia’s Roscosmos space programme has said that it will withdraw from the International Space Station in 2025.
- Russia will build its own space station with the aim of launching it into orbit by 2030.
- The announcement will end the space cooperation among various countries.
- Russian cosmonauts have worked with counterparts from the United States and 16 other countries about the International Space Station (ISS) since 1998.
- The International Space Station (ISS) was launched in 1998 by the Russian and US space agencies.
- Unlike the International Space Station-which orbits 420 km above the Earth, Russia’s space station would most likely not be permanently crewed because its orbit path would expose it to higher radiation.
