The Union Cabinet on March 19 approved the Revised National Program for Dairy Development (NPDD). The Revised National Program for Dairy Development (NPDD) aims to modernize India’s dairy infrastructure with a ₹2,790 crore budget for 2021-26. 🐄🥛

Key Highlights of NPDD

  • A Central Sector Scheme
  • Budget Boost: Additional ₹1,000 crore allocated.
  • Two Major Components:
    • Component A: Infrastructure development (milk chilling plants, testing labs, certification systems).
    • Component B (Dairying through Cooperatives – DTC): Strengthening dairy cooperatives with support from Japan & JICA.
