-A rare Himalayan Serow, also called Himalayan deer, was spotted in Nainital Town of Uttarakhand on 15 January, 2018.
-The Himalayan Serow falls under the Schedule 1 of the extinct species list of Wildlife
-Due to it’s shrinking habitat and killing for meat, it’s population is decreasing year by year. That is why it is listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List.
-Himalayan Serow’s scientific name is Capricornis Thar.
