Union Minister for Finance Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman launched a dedicated mobile app for the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS App) on 17th March.
Key Features of the PMIS Scheme:
- The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS) is a flagship initiative aimed at empowering youth by providing paid internship opportunities in India’s top companies.
- 12-month paid internships in the top 500 companies across various sectors.
- Target group: Individuals aged 21-24, who are not enrolled in full-time education or employment.
- Financial Assistance:
- ₹5,000 monthly stipend for each intern.
- ₹6,000 one-time financial assistance for additional support.
- Goal: To provide one crore internships in five years, boosting employability and skill development.
