On December 15, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for three ambitious projects in Kutch, Gujarat. Projects include world’s biggest renewable energy park, sea water desalination plant and milk processing dairy plant.
Hybrid Renewable Energy Park
- The Hybrid Renewable Energy Park project is one of its kind and world class, green energy project situated beyond India bridge from Khavda village to Vighakot.
- It will produce 30 Giga watt solar and wind energy on a vast expanse of wasteland.
- The area is controlled by the BSF and the Indian Army and civilian access is not allowed.
- Power Grid Corporation of India would be the nodal agency to channelize electricity generated here in to power grid.
Desalination plant at Gundiyali village
- The desalination plant at Gundiyali village near Mandvi in Kutch, will convert sea water for potable purposes for nearly 8 lakh people of 300 villages.
- The plant assumes great importance for Kutch peninsula which is perennially rain-deficit and no source of fresh water.
Milk processing plant of Sarhad dairy
- The 130 crore rupee milk processing plant of Sarhad dairy will process 2 lakh liter of milk per day along with packaging facility.
- The project is a part of Rashtriya Kisan Vikas Yojna.
