The Indian Parliamentary Group on January 29, 2018, announced the names of the parliamentarians to be conferred with the Outstanding Parliamentarian Award for 2013 to 2017. The name of the winners were shortlisted by a committee headed by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

- 2016: Dinesh Trivedi (Trinamool Congress member, Lok Sabha )
- 2015: Ghulam Nabi Azad (Congress, Rajya Sabha)
- 2014: Hukumdev Narayan Yadav (BJP, Lok Sabha)
- 2013: Najma Heptulla (BJP, Rajya Sabha-Currently governor of Manipur)
- The first member of parliament to be conferred with Outstanding Parliamentarian award was Chandrashekhar in 1995.

- The Indian Parliamentary Group is an autonomous body formed in the year 1949 in pursuance of a Motion adopted by the Constituent Assembly (Legislative) on 16 August, 1948.
- Membership of the Indian Parliamentary Group is open to all Members of Parliament and ex-Members of Parliament.
- The Speaker of Lok Sabha is the ex-officio President of the Group and the Executive Committee. The Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha and the Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha are ex-officio Vice-Presidents of the Group.
- The main of the Indian Parliamentary Group is to promote personal contacts between Members of Parliament.
- The Group acts as a link between the Parliament of India and the various Parliaments of the world.
