The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for all mandated Kharif Crops for Marketing Season 2022-23.
- Government has increased the MSP of Kharif Crops for Marketing Season 2022-23, to ensure remunerative prices to the growers for their produce and to encourage crop diversification.
- Among the increases in MSP announced, the sharpest was for soyabean (yellow) at 9%, while paddy MSP was raised by 5% to Rs 2,040/quintal.
- The MSP of paddy (common) has been increased by 5.15 per cent from Rs 1,940 per quintal in 2021-22 to Rs 2,040 quintal for 2022-23.
