- MEF economies account for roughly 80 percent of global GDP and global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
- Since being reconvened by President Biden in April 2021, the MEF has helped galvanize the global climate response, contributing to the progress achieved at the United Nations Climate Conferences in Glasgow (COP 26) and Sharm El-Sheikh (COP 27).
