Maharashtra launches ‘Cyber Safe Women’ initiative

Maharashtra Government has launched a ‘Cyber Safe Women’ initiative on January 3, 2020 on the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, a social reformer, educationist, and regarded as the first female teacher of India.

Under this initiative the Maharashtra cyber department and district level police across the state will be conducting a ‘Cyber Safe Women’ campaign in over 100 schools and colleges guiding women and girls on how to stay safe in the cyber space.

According to the state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the initiative will help in educating women about how the web is used by anti-social elements and child predators to commit various types of crimes.
