Lewandowski wins FIFA Best Men’s Player award for 2021

  • Polish striker Robert Lewandowski has won the FIFA Best Men’s Player award for 2021. Lewandowski won the award for the second straight year.
  • Spanish midfielder Alexia Putellas has won the FIFA Best Women’s Player prize for 2021.
  • The Best FIFA Football Awards is an association football award presented annually by the sport’s governing body, FIFA.
  • The first awarding ceremony was held on 9 January 2017 in Zürich, Switzerland. The award is aimed at reviving the FIFA World Player of the Year.
  • The winners of The Best player, goalkeeper and coach awards are determined through a voting process in which four groups had an equal say: football fans, selected media representatives, and the captains and head coaches of national teams from around the globe.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo was the first person to win the FIFA Best Men’s Player award for 2016.
