The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the demise of Shri K.V. Sampath Kumar, editor of Sudharma, the Sanskrit daily.
- Sampath Kumar, 64, editor of Sudharma, reckoned to be India’s and the world’s only Sanskrit daily, passed away in Mysuru.
- He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2020 by the government in recognition of his untiring efforts to keep the publication alive against all odds.
- Sudharma daily was launched by Sampath Kumar’s father Pandit K.N. Varadaraja Iyenga in 1970.
