According to a recent report, Jerdon’s Courser (Rhinoptilus bitorquatus), a critically endangered bird species, has not been visually spotted in over a decade.
It is a nocturnal and extremely rare. Jerdon’s Courser is a nocturnal bird known only from Eastern Ghats. It inhabits open patches within scrub-forest.
The call is a short series of two-noted whistles “tuick-tuoo.”
