Jayashree Vencatesan recognised as Women Changemakers in the World of Wetlands

Jayashree Vencatesan, co-founder of Care Earth Trust, has been honored with the Ramsar Award for ‘Wetland Wise Use’ for her relentless efforts in safeguarding Tamil Nadu’s wetlands and water bodies. She is recognized as one of the Women Changemakers in the World of Wetlands.

About the Ramsar Wetland Conservation Awards:

• Established in 1996 to recognize individuals and organizations that contribute to wetland conservation.
• The awards align with the Convention on Wetlands’ three action pillars:
  1. Fostering international collaboration for wetlands
  2. Wise use of wetlands
  3. Wetland protection
• Winners receive the Evian Special Prize of USD 10,000, sponsored by Danone.
