The Israeli Defense Forces said that it had successfully tested the C-Dome – the naval configuration of the Iron Dome missile defense system.
- The C-Dome system was developed by the army jointly with the Israeli Defense Ministry and the Israeli-based defense company Rafael.
- It has been designed to intercept advanced threats.
- The C-Dome system is a naval version of the Iron Dome. Iron Dome was used to shoot down rockets fired from the Gaza Strip for the past decade.
- The C-Dome system is being installed on Israel’s latest-generation corvette ships, which protect Israel’s coastline and offshore natural gas assets in the Mediterranean Sea.
