According to a World Bank report on remittance, India received the largest remittances in 2020 followed by China.
- India received over US $ 83 billion in remittances in 2020, a drop of just 0.2 per cent from 2019. In 2019, India had received US $ 83.3 billion in remittances.
- China received US $ 59.5 billion in remittances in 2020 against US $ 68.3 billion in 2019.
- India and China are followed by Mexico (US $ 42.8 billion), the Philippines (US $ 34.9 billion) and Egypt (US $ 29.6 billion).
Remittance outflow
- Remittance outflow was the highest from the United States of America (US $ 68 billion), followed by UAE (US $ 43 billion), Saudi Arabia (US $ 34.5 billion) and Switzerland (US $ 27.9 billion).
