The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, arrived in Jamaica on May 15, 2022. The President was accorded a guard of honour on his arrival.
- This is the first ever visit of an Indian President to Jamaica which is taking place in the 60th anniversary year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
- The President visited the Hope Botanical Garden in Kingston where he inaugurated the India-Jamaica Friendship Garden and planted a sapling of sandalwood.
- The President also visited Downtown Kingston where he inaugurated Ambedkar Avenue.
- President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the joint meeting of the houses of the Parliament in Jamaica on the third and last day of his visit to Jamaica.
