The Ima Market of Imphal, Manipur re-opened from 15th February 2021.
- The Ima is a market run exclusively by women and is well known across the globe.
- The markets had remained closed till date since 21st March last year as precautionary measures amid the outbreak of the pandemic.
- Manipur Chief Minister said that the State Government had been successful in containing the spread of COVID-19 and saving the precious lives of the people mainly due the contribution and responsible decision of women vendors to close the markets.
