The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru on 18th April launched a ‘Longevity India Initiative’.
- It aimed at increasing human healthspan and overcoming challenges associated with growing older.
- It primarily focuses on identifying early disease indicators, investigating ageing biomarkers, and developing new therapeutics and technologies to aid healthy ageing.
- Both fundamental and applied research will be conducted to have a better contextual understanding and develop solutions.
- MS Ramaiah Hospital and Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute (BMCRI) have officially collaborated to conduct a clinical study for identifying biomarkers of ageing.
