The Reang community, one of the 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in India, requested the Tripura government to grant recognition to their language, Kaubru, which is the oral language of the Bru ethnic people.
- The ethnic community has demanded that the state declare a holiday on Hojagiri Day, which celebrates the traditional Hojagiri dance, showcasing Tripura on the global cultural map in various parts of India and abroad.
- On March 14, 2022, the state government established an expert committee for Kaubru.
