Harish Salve appointed as Queen’s Counsel for courts of England, Wale

Senior Indian Advocate Harish Salve has been appointed as the Queen’s Counsel for the courts of England and Wales. He has been appointed by the Queen, on the advice of the Lord Chancellor. Last year, Dipen Sabharwal was made the Queen’s Counsel.

About Queen’s Counsel

The title of Queen’s Counsel is usually awarded to lawyers possessing demonstrated skill and expertise in the conduct of advocacy.

About Harish Salve

  • He served as a Solicitor General for India from 1999-2002.
  • He was called to Blackstone Chambers in 2013.
  • Salve had represented India before the International Court of Justice in Kulbhushan Jadhav extradition case.
