Union Road and Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari on June 11, 2020 announced the revival of ambitious Chambal Expressway for Gwalior Chambal Zone of Madhya Pradesh.
While addressing a virtual rally , he asked the state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to complete the land acquisition work related to it in three months. He will try to lay the foundation stone of this Expressway in three months by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.
He said that with the construction of this expressway, the entire area will be developed and many small and medium industries would come on both sides of this road.
The 300-km-long Chambal Express Way, connecting Madhya Pradesh with Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, was planned to be construction through the ravines of Chambal region. The project was announced by Union minister Nitin Gadkari and Shivraj Singh Chouhan in April 2017.
