The 125th birth anniversary year of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was celebrated on January 23, 2021 as Parakram Diwas at Haripura village in Surat district of Gujarat.
- An exhibition by NGMA of Ministry of Culture has also been organised which was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijay Rupani.
- The exhibition comprises of the famous Haripura panels made by Nand Lal Bose for the Congress session at Haripura (1938) where Netaji was made the President.
- Forth of these panels have been displayed in the exhibition.
- On this occasion, a cultural programme was also organised by West Zone Cultural Centre of Ministry of Culture.
- Haripura panels: Haripura is a village located in the district Surat in Gujarat. During India’s Independence Movement, it was the venue for the annual sessions of the Congress. On one occasion, Nandalal Bose was asked by Mahatma Gandhi to decorate the venue with art which is called Haripura panels.
- Haripura session: The February 1938 Haripura session of the Indian National Congress was, in many ways, a landmark event. Subhas Chandra Bose, who had been elected president at the 51st Congress session in January of that year, arrived at Haripura to a rousing reception.
