Exercise Prachand Prahar 2025

The exercise, Prachand Prahar, was a comprehensive tri-service effort by the Indian Armed Forces. It was conducted over three days from March 25 to 27 in the high-altitude terrain of Arunachal Pradesh along the Northern Borders of the Himalayas. The operation involved the coordinated participation of the Army, Air Force, and Navy. Here are the key points:

  • Multi-Domain Integration: The exercise focused on integrating operations across land, air, and sea, demonstrating how different branches of the military can work together seamlessly.
  • Advanced Surveillance and Reconnaissance: Multiple state-of-the-art surveillance assets were deployed. These included long-range surveillance aircraft from the Indian Air Force, maritime domain awareness aircraft from the Indian Navy, helicopters, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Additionally, space-based resources were utilized to enhance situational awareness.
  • Special Forces Involvement: Elite Indian Army Special Forces were mobilized to further bolster the exercise’s capabilities, especially in detecting simulated targets and ensuring domain awareness.
  • Evolution from Previous Exercises: Prachand Prahar builds on the lessons from Exercise Poorvi Prahar, which was held in November 2024 and focused mainly on the integrated use of aviation assets. This evolution highlights an expanding focus on multi-domain operations.
