While chairing the DISHA (District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee) meeting Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr Jitendra Singh made out a strong case of promoting the Udhampur “Kalahari”, a local Milk Food product which was also mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent public rally, through value addition and fusion options.
About DISHA
- District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (Disha) has been formed by the Union Ministry of Rural Development in June, 2016 superseding the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee.
- District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) constituted under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament with a view to fulfill the objective of ensuring better coordination among all the elected representatives in Parliament, State Legislatures and Local Governments (Panchayati Raj Institutions, Municipal Bodies), in monitoring the progress of major projects aimed at socio- economic transformation at the district level.
- With a view to optimize the outcomes from the Disha review mechanism, Disha Dashboard has been conceptualized.
- It aims to create a data driven governance solution for elected representatives for planning, monitoring and evaluating multiple parameters of various schemes under DISHA.
