Delhi CM outlines “5T plan” to contain COVID-19

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on April 7, 2020 announced a “5T plan” to contain SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) spread in Delhi.

The Five T’s

These five Ts are testing, tracing, treatment, teamwork and tracking-monitoring.

Testing: Testing done on a mas scale enables the actual data of people affected by novel coronavirus. Mr. Kejriwal said that like South Korea, Delhi Government will be testing on a large scale. Through this testing, the government also intended to identify COVID-19 hotspots and take necessary action.

Tracing: It involves identifying and quarantining people who have come in contact with infected persons.

Treatment: Delhi CM said that the LNJP and GB Pant hospitals had been declared primary hospitals for COVID-19 treatment with 1,500 and 500 beds respectively.

Teamwork: It is collective efforts to fight the virus. All State governments, Kejriwal said, must learn from each other and work together.

Tracking and Monitoring: Kejriwal said that it was his responsibility to ensure that all these measures were in place and all the systems were functioning smoothly.
