The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow on the demise of filmmaker, thinker and poet Shri Buddhadeb Dasgupta.
- Buddhadeb Dasgupta, who had been ailing for some time, passed away on June 10. He was 77.
- Some of his prominent films include Tahader Katha, Bagh Bahadur, Charachar and Uttara.
- He won the National award for Best Film many times over, as well as for Best Bengali film. He was also a well-regarded poet, which is why there are so many poetic touches in his frames.
