BORIS JOHNSON-CHIEF GUEST AT THE REPUBLIC DAY PARADE 2021

The Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be the chief guest at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on 26th of January 2021.

  • President of Brazil Jair Messias Bolsonarowas the chief guest at the Republic Day 2020.
  • During talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, visiting UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab confirmed that Prime Minister Johnson has accepted India’s invite to be the chief guest at the Republic Day Parade next month.
  • Boris Johnson is only the second British leader since India’s independence to attend the Republic Day parade in Delhi as guest of honour after John Major in 1993.
  • In the past, members of the British royalty have been chief guests — Prince Philip in 1959 and Queen Elizabeth II in 1961.
