In Bangladesh, a statue of the freedom fighter Bagha Jatin was defaced by some miscreants in Kushtia district.

Who was Bagha jatin?
- Bagha Jatin, whose real name was Jatindra Nath Mukherjee, was born at Koya village in the Kushtia district in 1879.
- He was a revolutionary leader and was implicated in the Alipore Conspiracy Case and Hawra-Shibpur Conspiracy Case.
- He earned his title, ‘Bagha’ in 1906 after he stabbed it to death a Royal Bengal Tiger which has attacked Jatin’s cousin.
- He died on 10 September 1915.
