President Ram Nath Kovind has expressed grief over the demise of PK Warrier. Dr Warrier passed away at the age of 100 at his home in Kottakkal on July 10, 2021.
- Dr PK Warrier was a flag-bearer of Ayurveda who played a critical role in popularising Kerala’s traditional mode of treatment across the world.
- He was the chief physician and managing trustee of the Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, one of the leading Ayurvedic healthcare chains in the country.
- He won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi award for biography and autobiography in 2008 for his work ‘Smriti Parvam’. He was a recipient of the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2010.
