The Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah on December 26, 2020 launched several development projects in Assam.
- He distributed financial grants to 8,000 Namghars (traditional Vaisnavite monasteries of Assam) under the Assam Darshan programme.
- Namghars were conceived by Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva and symbolise the collective identity and culture of the people of Assam.
