Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa laid the foundation stone for the Anubhava Mantapa at Basavakalyan in Bidar district on January 6, 2021.
- It will have state-of-the-art robotics system, air-conditioning using natural resources, a tower resembling a Shiva Linga on top of the building, a Dasoha Bhavan, a themed terrace garden.
- The Anubhava Mantapa was conceived originally by 12th century social reformer Basavanna.
- According to the Lingayat tradition, Anubhava Mantapa was the first parliment in history of mankind. Prabhudeva, a great Yogi of extraordinary achievement, was the president and Lord Basava acted as the prime minister.
- The members were not elected by the people, but were picked up or nominated by the higher authorities of the Mantapa.
