The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on 5 January, 2018, announced a new banknotes of Rs. 10 denomination
– The new Rs. 10 notes will be in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series, and will bear the signature of RBI Governor, Dr. Urjit R. Patel.
-To depict the India’s cultural heritage, the new denomination notes Rs. 10 will have motif of the Sun Temple and the Konark on the reverse side.
-The base colour of the notes is chocolate brown.
Motif’s on new Indian currency notes
- Rs. 2000 currency notes: Mangalyan (Colour: Magneta)
- Rs. 500 currency notes: Red fort (Colour: Green)
- Rs. 200 currency notes: Sanchi Stupa (Colour: Bright Yellow)
- Rs. 50 currency notes (new): Hampi with Chariot along with the Swachh Bharat (Colour: fluorescent blue )
- Rs. 10 currency notes (new): (Colour: Chocolate brown)
