All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties & Social Justice (AICHLS) and Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) jointly organizinged the 11th International Peace Conference on September 21, 2021 to observe International Day of Peace, in Leh.
- International Peace Day was established in 1981 by the UN General Assembly and designated the Day in 2001, as a period to observe 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.
- This year’s theme was Recovering Better for an equitable and sustainable world.
- 11th International Peace Conference was conducted in collaboration with the all religious organizations in Ladakh.
- On the occasion, the Council also conferred the 7th Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Award to Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena, the Founder of Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre.
