- Justice Abhilasha Kumari on 9 February, 2018 was sworn-in as new Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur.
- She is the first first woman to become the chief justice of the Manipur high court.
- She is also the third full-time chief justice of Manipur high court.
- Justice Abhilasha Kumari is the daughter of former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh.
- She has served as a Gujarat high court judge and chief justice of Tripura high court.
- High Court of Manipur was established on 23 March 2013.
- The Centre in 2013 had constituted three new High Courts in the northeast; Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura taking the total number of High Courts in the country from 21 to 24.
